Organisation certificates are used to identify the organisation when it requires access to web and other services with a service provider. They can also be used to encrypt data passing to and from the services.
An organisation certificate must be revoked:
- if the organisation does no longer exist
- on suspicion of misuse for example if computers have been stolen
- if the information attached to the certificate is no longer correct for example after change of name
Notice that you cannot reactivate a certificate after revoking it. But you can always order a new organisation certificate.
